Our Mission Statement

Amberley Shop and Café strives to achieve the following objectives in the way it conducts its business.

 Objectives are listed in order of priority.

1.     To operate a thriving community owned shop and café that provides what our local residents and our visitors want to buy or consume. The offering to be based on good quality produce sourced as locally as practical.

 2.     To foster a culture of mutual respect, fairness, friendship, reliability, integrity and equality for employees  volunteers and customers alike

 3.     To maintain and grow a social hub that encourages social cohesion, integration and inclusion

 4.     To champion a  sound environmental ethos, cutting waste, food miles, reliance on fossil fuels, and excessive packaging

 5.     To support local businesses and artists

 6.     To provide this for all sections of the community at a fair and reasonable price

 7.     To provide opportunities for young and old to learn new skills in the workings of a community business.

 8.     To look out for and support those who are less mobile and unable to get out
